When the Canadian Gold Maple Leaf first arrived on the scene of the precious metals market, it faced a solitary gold bullion coin option available to potential investors. However, as time passed, this coin established itself as an undeniable force to be reckoned with. The initial years in this series stand out for their utilization of .999 pure gold, deviating from the prevalent 24-karat gold standard. Right now, BGASC has 1 oz Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Tubes with 1979-1982 date marks available to purchase online.

Available for purchase from BGASC is a tube of 1 oz Canadian Gold Maple Leaf coins, comprising a total of 10 coins. It is important to understand that although all the coins in this tube will exhibit dates ranging from 1979 to 1982, there is no certainty regarding the inclusion of a complete set of coins with matching date marks or a diverse selection of date marks within the specified time range.
An effigy of Queen Elizabeth II is prominently featured on the obverse side of the Canadian Gold Maple Leafs. Created in 1965 by the esteemed artist Arnold Machin, these designs portray the Queen at the age of 39. It is important to mention that these depictions represent the second-generation portrait of Her Majesty throughout her remarkable reign.
On the reverse side of the 1 oz Gold Maple Leaf coins, you will find the captivating representation of Canada’s national emblemthe sugar maple leaf. This lifelike design, crafted by Walter Ott exclusively for the Maple Leaf Series, was unveiled in 1979.
While Canadian Gold Maple Leafs have long featured Walter Otts reverse depiction of a sugar maple leaf, Queen Elizabeth IIs effigy was depicted three different times on the coins. These 1979-1982 coins only have Arnold Machins design. Later designs came from Dora de Pedery-Hunt in 1990 and Susanna Blunt in 2003.
