History

Male elk grow new antlers each year that can reach four feet across and weigh nearly 40 pounds. They shed these antlers in winter and begin regrowth each spring. During the rut, bull elk make loud, haunting bugles to attract mates and warn other males, creating one of the most memorable sounds in nature.
