In 2016 the Chinese mint transitioned to a metric unit of measurement system for their bullion coins, and what was formerly known as the 1/2 oz Gold Panda is now the 15 gram Chinese Gold Panda Coin. Each of these bullion coins contain 15 grams of .999 fine gold and is stamped with a 200 Yuan face value by China Gold Coin Inc. (CGCI) for the People’s Bank of China (the central bank of the People’s Republic of China).

The obverse of this 15g gold coin features famous China landmark Beijing Temple of Heaven with Chinese inscription above the image reading, “People’s Republic of China” and the date of mintage, 2016. The reverse of the 2016 Chinese Silver Panda Coin is the playful panda figure hugging a tree branch with bamboo shoots in the background. For maximum protection and preservation, each coin remains sealed in original mint plastic sheet. Chinese Gold Panda bullion coins were first issued in 1982 and continue with a new panda design every year. Other fractional sizes are available.
