Product Description

In the course of its 28-year history, the Morgan Silver Dollar came into existence through the efforts of five branches of the US Mint. Among these, the Carson City Mint occupies a memorable position as a specialized western branch established by the US Mint. Striking Morgan Dollars for 13 years, the Carson City Mint was renowned for its Morgan Dollars. Right now, BGASC offers 1884-CC Morgan Silver Dollar Coins for purchase in certified condition online.

BGASC offers the 1884-CC Morgan Silver Dollar with an MS63 grade. Coins in this condition exhibit slightly impaired mint luster with the potential for small contact marks, scattered heavier marks, and small hairlines visible without magnification.

George T. Morgan’s iconic design for the obverse of the 1884 Morgan Silver Dollar unveils a captivating depiction of Liberty. With meticulous artistry, Liberty’s head graces the coin’s surface in left-profile relief. The inclusion of a coronet crown and a laurel wreath adds a touch of regality to this timeless portrayal.

Morgans version of the heraldic eagle graces the reverse side of 1884-CC Morgan Dollars. This image shows a front-facing bald eagle with the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace in its talons, but departs from tradition in its lack of a US national shield.

The Carson City Mint ceased operations in 1893 due to the depletion of the Comstock Lode’s silver reserves and declining production. After its closure, the building served various purposes, including a federal assay office, a government warehouse, and a printing office.
