This coin was the first in the Gold Panda collection to exceed the 1 oz size, and it was issued in a limited proof format. These coins are available in PF62 condition, as graded by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation. Obverse

On the obverse of the coin is a scene showing a Giant Panda. This adult panda is sitting upright and eating bamboo, with additional bamboo shoots behind it. The design reflects the pandas peaceful nature and its deep connection to Chinas culture and wildlife.

Reverse

The reverse again shows the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests. With its tall, circular form and deep cultural meaning, this building was the setting for imperial ceremonies meant to bring good harvests. Its presence on the coin highlights the importance of food and farming in Chinese tradition.

One of the standout features of this coin is the image of the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests. Located in Beijings Temple of Heaven, this famous temple was built in 1420 and is known for its round shape and triple-gabled roof. Decorated with bright glazed tiles, the building is a key part of Chinas architectural history.
