This 1991 Prestige Proof Set is housed in a protective booklet and includes seven coins. Youll find proof versions of the coins commonly used in US currency: the cent, nickel, dime, quarter, and half dollar. This particular set also features two special commemorative coins created to mark the 50-year anniversary of Mount Rushmores completion. Some booklets may show wear, and outer packaging may be incomplete in certain cases.

Designs

This sets commemorative coins honor the Mount Rushmore National Memorial. The silver dollar includes a view of Mount Rushmore on the obverse and a reverse showing a heraldic eagle over a US silhouette. The clad half dollar has its own Mount Rushmore design on the front, while the reverse displays an American buffalo.

History

The circulation coins are made from cupro-nickel and other typical coin metals. Included are the Lincoln Penny, Jefferson Nickel, Roosevelt Dime, Washington Quarter, and Kennedy Half Dollar. Each coin features the mirrored background and frosted detailing associated with proof-quality strikes.
