Obverse

On the obverse of the 1994 1 oz Silver Kookaburra, you’ll see Queen Elizabeth II in a right-profile portrait created by Raphael Maklouf in 1985. The Queen is shown wearing the George IV State Diadem, and this design appeared on many Australian coins for years.

Reverse

The reverse design for the 1994 Australian Silver Kookaburra shows two kookaburras perched on a tree branch. These birds take part in bonding displays like synchronized calls, food sharing, and wing-spreading, all of which help build trust before the pair works together to make a nest.

History
