The 2 oz Silver Anubis Ultra High Relief Round is the second release of the Egyptian Gods series from the Elemetal Mint. This 2 oz ultra high relief silver round features the ancient Egyptian deity Anubis, an embalmer and god usually depicted as either a canine or a man with a canine or jackal head who was responsible for guiding souls into the afterlife and protecting the tombs of the dead. The Anubis Round is a serious piece of investment bullion made to the highest production standards for quality and purity, and features a stunning design by the amazingly talented artist and medallic sculptor Heidi Wastweet.

The obverse of each Anubis Silver Round features a breath-taking likeness of Anubis himself, sculpted in ultra high relief to create a lifelike 3-dimensional portrait. This silver piece’s design depicts Anubis tending to the weighing scale during a “Weighing of the Heart”, a process in which it was determined whether a soul would be allowed to enter the realm of the dead or not. Just below the scale sits a human head, mummy statue and canopic jar on a table ledge inscribed with Anubis’s name in heiroglyphics.

Centered on the reverse of each Anubis 2 oz Ultra High Relief Silver Round is the canine likeness of Anubis sitting atop a pedestal adorned with bird wings and cobra snakes, a heiroglyphic symbol of sovereignty. Behind Anubis is a great pyramid and hieroglyphics taken from ancient Egyptian papyri. The round’s weight (2 oz), purity (.999) and metal (Ag) are stamped bottom center, flanked by a pattern of lotus reeds blooming in the Nile as can be seen on the outer wall of the Temple of Horus.
