For 2017 the Chinese mint transitioned to a metric unit of measurement system for their bullion coins, and what was formerly known as the 1 oz Silver Panda is now the 30 gram Silver Panda coin. Each 2017 Silver Panda bullion coin contains 30 grams of .999 fine silver bullion, produced by China Gold Coin Inc. (CGCI) for the People’s Bank of China (the central bank of the People’s Republic of China).

The obverse of this 30g silver coin features famous China landmark Beijing Temple of Heaven with Chinese inscription above the image reading, “People’s Republic of China” and the date of mintage, 2017. The reverse of the 2017 Chinese Silver Panda Coin is the playful panda sitting on the grass, curiously holding a bamboo shoot. For maximum protection and preservation, each coin is sealed in its own, individual original plastic capsule from the mint.
