Paul Kruger graces the obverse face of the 2022 South African Gold Krugerrand Coins. He is depicted in a left-facing portrait with a long beard and a stoic expression. This effigy first debuted in the 1890s on gold coins of the South African Pound.

Reverse

In regards to Paul Kruger, he was a historical icon who became famous for being the first Boer President of the country, serving from 1883 to the turn of the century in 1900.
