History

Born of the Gorgon known as Medusa, Pegasos is a white horse with wings and a centerpiece of Greek mythology. The typical version of the story is that the hero Perseus cut off the head of Medusa, allowing her offspring to emerge from her neck. In some iterations, Pegasos also has a brother named Chrysaor born at the same time. Pegasos then allows Perseus to escape on his back with the head of Medusa. Pegasos later serves the hero Bellerophon before retreating to Olympus to carry the thunderbolts of Zeus.
