Obverse

For the obverse design of 2023 Armenian Gold Noahs Ark Coins, you will find an image of the national coat of arms. This image includes a quartered shield that has heraldic lions and eagles in the quadrants. Additionally, it is supported by a heraldic eagle and a heraldic lion on each side. There is a smaller shield at the center depicting Noahs Ark atop Mount Ararat.

Reverse

In the reverse design of the 2023 1 oz Gold Noahs Ark Coin, the mint offers an artistic rendering of the biblical ark. In this design, Noahs Ark is floating at the center on top of the calming floodwaters. The sun is rising above Mount Ararat in the background while a dove flies into the foreground.

History

The gold weights introduced in this series in 2020 were based on a successful 2017 release of proof gold coins. In 2017, 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1 Gram proof gold coins were offered. When Geiger introduced BU gold coins in 2020, those same four weights were chosen.
