Queen Elizabeth II is on the obverse side of 2023 Australian Lunar Rabbit Silver Coins. Her Majesty is shown here in right-profile relief wearing the George IV State Diadem Crown. This portrait is the fifth-generation effigy from the Royal Mint and debuted on Australian coins in 2018 as the sixth-generation design. Inscriptions on this side read ELIZABETH II, AUSTRALIA, 1 OZ 9999 AG, and 1 DOLLAR.
Reverse
For the reverse design of the 2023 Lunar Rabbit 1 oz Silver Coin, the mint features an image of two rabbits. In this design, the rabbits are pictured beneath a low-hanging branch. While one rabbit is seated and alert, the other one is carefree as it stands on its hind legs looking up at the branch. Inscriptions on this side include only RABBIT, 2023, the Chinese symbol for a rabbit, and the P mint mark of Perth Mint.
History
