Packaged in a Bible-themed presentation box, each coin comes with a Certificate of Authenticity, marking 2024 as the concluding year of this collectible series.

Obverse

On the obverse of each 2024 Philistines Return the Ark Biblical Silver Coin, King Charles III is depicted in a left-profile portrait, without a crown. This design by Jody Clark also represents the first official portrait of Charles III.

Reverse

The reverse of the 2024 2 oz Philistines Return the Ark Biblical Silver Coin shows the moment when the Philistines returned the Ark of the Covenant to Israel. Following instructions from their priests, they placed the Ark on a cart pulled by two milk cows. If the cows went directly to Beth Shemesh in Israel, they believed this would confirm the cause of their plagues.

History

The tale illustrated here begins with the Philistines capturing the Ark of the Covenant during a battle with Israel. When they brought the Ark to their temple of Dagon, a series of misfortunes struck. The idol of Dagon was repeatedly toppled, and the Philistine people suffered from afflictions and plagues. After enduring these troubles for seven months, the Philistine leaders resolved to return the Ark to Israel.
