Reverse
The reverse side of the 2024 Morgan Silver Dollar showcases Morgans distinctive heraldic eagle. The eagle is presented in a front-facing relief, with its wings spread wide. It clutches arrows and an olive branch in its talons, symbolizing war and peace.
History
The Morgan Silver Dollar, which saw its last circulation in 1921, was designed by George T. Morgan. Invited from the UK by the US Mints Director, Morgan became an Assistant Engraver and created the famous Morgan Dollar. In 1917, he became the 7th Chief Engraver of the United States Mint, a role he held until his passing in 1925.
