The Perth Mint will mint these coins throughout the year to satisfy demand until the next design is released. The coins are available in individual plastic capsules, rolls of 20 coins, or boxes of 100 coins (five rolls).

Obverse

On the obverse, the 2025 Australian Silver Lunar Snake Coin features King Charles III in his first appearance within the Lunar Series. Dan Thornes left-profile portrait of the King is depicted without a crown, a nod to tradition across the Commonwealth.

Reverse

The reverse of the 2025 1/2 oz Silver Lunar Snakes highlights a detailed image of a coiled snake beneath overhanging branches. The design, crafted by Sean Rogers, also includes a serene background of water and mountains.

History

The Chinese zodiac is a 12-year cycle, with each year associated with a different animal. The snake, which is the sixth sign, is celebrated again in 2025, following its last appearance in 2013.
