Obverse

The obverse of the 2025 Barbados Gold Trident Coin features the official coat of arms of Barbados. The shield at the center displays a bearded fig tree, reflecting the islands early identity. On either side of the shield stand a pelican and a dolphin. The pelican represents native wildlife, while the dolphin points to the importance of the surrounding waters and fishing industry. Above the shield is a helmet framed by orchids, along with a hand gripping crossed sugar cane stalks.

Reverse

The reverse of the 2025 1 oz Gold Trident Coin showcases the trident head in the middle of the design. This image is derived from Barbados former colonial Badge, which included Britannia holding a trident. By isolating the trident, the nation embraced a simplified symbol connected to independence and self-governance. The three prongs are also said to stand for core democratic principles valued by the country.
