His wings and armor are front and center, along with a shield that displays a Christian cross. While some depictions of Michael use scales to represent justice, this version leans into his role as a divine warrior.

History

Artists across time have portrayed Archangel Michael in different ways. In Byzantine tradition, he wore royal robes and carried a staff. During the Renaissance, artists favored a more realistic look, showing him in Roman armor. But certain elements remain consistent wings, weapons, and a strong presence.
