Obverse

On the obverse of the 2025 British Silver Tudor Beasts Greyhound of Richmond Coin is the portrait of King Charles III. This was the first official image of the king to appear on coins, created by artist Martin Jennings late in 2022. The king is shown without a crown, facing left.

Reverse

The reverse of the 2025 10 oz Silver Tudor Beasts Coin presents the Greyhound of Richmond with the Three Lions shield. This artwork continues the Mints use of historic symbols to tell the story of the royal family. The image shows the greyhound as a guardian of Englands coat of arms, linking past and present through royal themes often found in Tudor buildings and writings.

History

The Greyhound of Richmond was a symbol of key Tudor valuesloyalty, readiness, and speed in service. The white greyhound, wearing a red collar, symbolized noble background and alertness. Its hunting heritage connected it with noble traditions and the idea of pursuing higher goals. This image was also a nod to the Tudors focus on law, order, and careful rule.
