Obverse

The obverse of the 2025 Chinese Gold Pandas displays a traditional image that has been a part of all Chinese Panda coins. It shows the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests, a significant building within the Temple of Heaven Complex, and this design has been included in every edition of the Chinese Panda since 1982.

Reverse

On the reverse side of the 2025 3 Gram Gold Panda Coins, this years design illustrates an adult panda playing with bamboo. The design also includes two young cubsone engaging playfully with the adult while the other is seen climbing over rocks in the background.

History

The 2025 design for the Chinese Panda Coins emphasizes the bond between a mother panda and her cubs. This social moment is rare in a panda’s life, as their bamboo diet limits social interactions. Typically, pandas spend about 14 hours each day eating low-calorie bamboo, which leaves little time for complex social behavior.
