The eagle represents the nation, the globe signifies global reach, and the fouled anchor shows the Corps naval roots and partnership with the U.S. Navy.

Reverse

The reverse of 2025-P 1 oz Proof Marine Corps Privy Silver Eagle Coins showcases Emily Damstras 2020 design of a bald eagle in flight carrying an oak branch. This design has been used on Silver Eagles since mid-2021.

History

During the American Revolution, the Continental Marines completed their first amphibious mission in March 1776 at Nassau in the Bahamas. Their success in capturing British gunpowder and supplies supported Washingtons forces. Marines also served aboard Continental Navy ships, providing shipboard security and engaging in naval battles and boarding operations throughout the war.
