Product Description
In 2006, the U.S. Mint introduced a new variation to the American Silver Eagle lineupthe Burnished Silver Eagle. The minting process begins with standard silver planchets that are tumbled in a drum with tiny steel balls and a polishing compound. Obverse
The obverse of the 2025-W Burnished American Silver Eagle showcases the Walking Liberty design by Adolph A. Weinman. Introduced in 1916, this classic artwork shows Liberty striding confidently toward the sunrise. Draped in the American flag, she stretches out one hand and carries oak and laurel branches in the other.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 2025-W Burnished Silver Eagle Coin is a modern image of the bald eagle. Designed by Emily Damstra, this version shows the eagle with its wings tucked as it descends with an oak branch in its talons, adding a sense of movement and purpose.
History
The image of Liberty has appeared on U.S. coins since the 18th century. Originally modeled on European classical designs, these depictions became more uniquely American over time, eventually representing the nation’s independent spirit and evolving identity.
