Obverse

On the obverse of the 2026-W Proof American Silver Eagle is Adolph A. Weinmans Walking Liberty design. Liberty is shown moving toward the rising sun, draped in the American flag with oak and laurel branches in her left arm. Her extended right hand represents freedom and opportunity. This obverse also includes the commemorative 1776-2026 date mark and the America250 Liberty Bell privy.

Reverse

The reverse of the 2026-W 1 oz Proof Silver Eagle features Emily Damstras bald eagle design. Introduced in 2021, the image shows the eagle descending with wings spread upward as it clutches an oak branch in its talons.

History

The Proof American Silver Eagle program began in 1986 as part of the United States Mints newly authorized bullion initiative. Produced for collectors, proof versions of the Silver Eagle were originally struck at the San Francisco Mint and featured carefully polished fields with frosted design elements. These early releases helped establish a long-running series that continues to attract collectors year after year.
