History

While Tutankhamun was plagued with physical ailments that led to an early death, his brief rule between 1334 and 1325 BC was largely successful. One key decision by King Tut involved returning to the polytheistic system of worship that had existed prior to his father Akhenatens rule. Tutankhamun also managed to mitigate political corruption and restore various holy sites that had fallen into disrepair. While some suspect Tutankhamun was murdered at the age of 19, x-ray results of his remains suggest that he likely died of an infection caused by a broken leg.
