The Martyrdom of the Apostles Series is a collectible coin series that focuses on the stories of the 12 apostles of Jesus and their final days. These men followed Jesus during his ministry and shared his message after his ascension. Each faced trials and, according to tradition, suffered martyrdom while spreading Christianity. The Apostles Series Holy Bible 12-Piece Collectors Box is styled to look like a traditional book. The cover reads HOLY BIBLE, and the outside has the appearance of a book cover. When closed, the sides are designed to look like the pages of a book. Inside, a black tray holds up to 12 coins from the series. Collectors purchasing the case may want to begin or add to their series with coins such as James Son of Zebedee or Judas Iscariot.

The Martyrdom of the Apostles Series highlights the last moments of the apostles through proof and colorized proof coins. According to Christian tradition, these twelve men were chosen by Jesus to share his message. Many of them met violent deaths: Peter was crucified upside down in Rome, Andrew was crucified in Greece on a cross shaped like an X, and James the Greater was beheaded in Jerusalem around 44 AD. John, however, is believed to have been the only apostle to die naturally. Others, like Thomas, Matthew, and Philip, also met martyrdom in different parts of the world.
