Every 2020 1/1000 oz Aurum Republic of Ghana Gold Note listed here is in brand-new condition, thoughtfully packaged inside new currency sleeves with a Certificate of Authenticity from the issuing mint. These notes contain thin layers of 24-karat gold layered between polyester sheets for protection and a unique form of gold bullion.

Obverse

On the obverse side, discover a front-facing relief of a Ghanaian woman, inspired by African Liberty, alongside the face value in Ghanaian Cedi and a star. The individually serialized gold notes carry serial numbers starting with “AA” and concluding with seven numbers after the two-letter start of the code, ranging from AA0000001 to AA0010000.

Reverse

The reverse side of the 2020 1/1000 oz Republic of Ghana Gold Note features the Ghanaian coat of arms, a symbol of eagles flanking a quartered shield with a single star above, and the national motto of Freedom and Justice.

History

In 2018, the Republic of Ghana produced 4.8 million ounces of gold while South Africa produced 4.2 million ounces of gold. This marked the first time that the Republic of Ghana had surpassed South Africa in terms of ounces of gold produced.
