Each of the 25 Florida Goldback Gold Notes available from BGASC is a new issue in the Goldback Series. These notes come in protective plastic currency sleeves to ensure the gold remains secure. The Goldbacks are made by combining thin layers of 24-karat gold between polymer sheets, making them both durable and practical.

Design

On the 25 Florida Goldback Gold Note, a young woman is pictured navigating an aluminum boat through the Everglades. The scene includes wildlife such as a Florida panther observing her from the trees above and an alligator gliding through the water near her boat.

History

The Everglades, often referred to as the “River of Grass,” is a distinctive and vital ecosystem in North America. Conservation became a priority during the 20th century as various human activities reduced the Everglades to about half its original size. This essential ecosystem is home to endangered species, including the Florida panther and the American crocodile, and plays an important role as a natural water filter and a barrier against storm surges.
