Goldbacks are a modern approach to physical gold ownership. Produced using specialized techniques and made from 24-karat gold, these notes serve both as collectible pieces and practical items. In 2025, the state of Oklahoma joins the Goldback series. One of the first releases in this collection is the 1 Goldback note, which is now available in a 100-note bundle at BGASC.

Each note in this 100-count pack comes in its own protective sleeve, bundled together for bulk purchase. All notes are made from 24-karat gold, with a combined gold weight of 1/10 Troy oz. The Oklahoma-specific imagery is finely printed onto the surface of each note. A UV security feature is included on the reverse to provide added protection and ensure authenticity.

Design

The obverse of each 1 Oklahoma Goldback Gold Note shows an active wagon train heading west. Several riders on horseback and a speeding wagon fill the scene. In the foreground, a woman on horseback is shown carrying a pole with a flag marked PERSEVERANTIA. This word is Latin for perseverance and reflects the determination shown by those who moved across the American frontier.

History

Oklahomas place in 19th-century American history is shaped by westward migration. Wagon trains journeyed through its territory as families and settlers moved west. These caravans faced many challenges including river crossings at the Arkansas and Canadian rivers, navigating unfamiliar terrain, and interacting with Native American tribes. Forts like Fort Gibson and Fort Sill offered protection, and merchants along the way set up trading outposts for travelers making their way through this important corridor.
