Each 10 Oklahoma Goldback Gold Note comes sealed in an individual protective sleeve. The notes are crafted by layering a precise amount of 24-karat gold within durable polymer sheets. Every note in the series features its own design, and each includes a UV marker on the reverse for added authenticity.

Design

The 10 Goldback design focuses on a ceremonial tribal dance, with figures dressed in traditional attire and buffalo appearing in the background. The imagery acknowledges the ongoing importance of tribal nations in Oklahomas communities, economy, and cultural life.

History

After being designated Indian Territory in the 1800s, Oklahoma became a new home for many relocated Native American groups. These communities maintained distinct cultures and governance even through periods of forced assimilation. Today, the state is home to 39 federally recognized tribes, the second-most in the U.S.
