Design

The obverse of each 100 Milligram Aurum Natural Treasures Gray Wolf Gold Note shows several wolves in a snowy mountain landscape. This scene honors the gray wolfs role in balancing ecosystems. After being reintroduced to Yellowstone in the 1990s, these predators helped restore ecological harmony by reducing overgrazing and encouraging forest and stream recovery. On the reverse of the note, youll find one gray wolf, shown howling into the distance. A security feature that glows under ultraviolet light is embedded on this side as an added layer of authenticity and protection.

History

Although once widespread across North America, gray wolves are now mostly found in Alaska, parts of western Canada, and limited areas in the northern U.S. These highly social animals live in family-based packs and use cooperative hunting strategies to bring down large prey such as deer and elk.
