Each 1 Arizona Goldback Gold Note ships individually in a protective sleeve, or in bulk bundles of 100 notes. The 1 oz Arizona Goldback honors the early 19th-century era, when Mexico began overseeing the region after achieving independence from Spain in 1821.

Design

The note features a woman wearing period Mexican attire in front of Mission San Jose de Tumacacori. This mission, established in 1691 by Father Kino, is one of the oldest European-founded sites in Arizona and part of a chain of missions built northward from Mexico. The structures recognizable dome and adobe design were completed over time, though the mission was abandoned in the 1840s due to Apache attacks and unrest during Mexicos early years.

Ordering

After Mexicos independence, the presidio at Tubac became a key frontier base for both soldiers and civilians in the northern reaches of Sonora. This time period saw a reduction in missionary activities and growth in civilian settlement. Tubac thrived briefly as a center for mining and ranching, although ongoing Apache conflicts challenged its stability.
