Types of Gold Bars

There are three main types of gold bars that you’ll find at BGASC.

• Cast Bar: Gold shot or ingots are placed into a mold, which is then heated. Once cooled, the bar is removed and given design elements on one side.
• Hand-Poured Bar: Similar process as cast bars except molten gold is poured into a mold, with one side being left exposed.
• Minted Ingot: These bars start off as blanks, pieces of metal in the shape and size of a bar with no design elements. Minted ingots are then placed into a machine that uses thousands of pounds of force to stamp design elements into it.
